Established as an outdoor catering facility in 1994, Elaine and Leigh opened their first coffee shop at Bastion Street, Athlone in 1996.  From small beginnings they established a wonderful reputation for the quality of their food and the business grew outstripping their restaurant facility which prompted a move to Connaught Street in November 2007.

The new 60 seater restaurant and pastry café continues to be one of the best restaurants in Athlone offering all day food from 9am to 6 pm Monday to Saturday.

The food production team is headed up by head chef Denis O’ Sullivan.  Leigh and Elaine joint manage the operation which also encapsulates their busy outdoor catering facility.

The food production policy is focused and direct- All food for the restaurant and outside catering  is produced using the best of Irish ingredients sourced from the best of Irish and local producers. 

Sean dunning Master butchers on Connaught street supply  A slice of Life with beef, lamb, poultry and pork to an agreed specification delivered direct to us from the production source.  A slice of life also gets it fruit and vegetables locally supporting local business and producers. 

A visit to the restaurant will impress you with the display of hot and cold foods available to eat in our state of the art surroundings or as a take out delight for you and your friends.  Absolute attention to detail on the hot and cold counters will impress as you scan the professional displays.

Freshly cooked breakfasts are available from 9 am to 12noon.  At noon the head chef Denis oversees the precision change over to lunch, offering joint of the day with a choice of additional hot dishes.  To compliment your meal we include a selection of fresh vegetables and potatoes house sauces as an accompaniment will not disappoint.  For the lighter lunch fresh home made soup is the order of the day and hot specials serve to compliment this hot table.

Moving along one can select from the display of cold dishes: home cooked meats and fish complimented by a wonderful selection of house salads all served with complimentary dressings and relishes.

The pastry section is your last port of call and the aim is not to disappoint!  The pastry team strive to bring the wow factor to the selection on display prepared each day using the best of fresh ingredients in the making of fresh cream cakes, buns and mouthwatering desserts. The pastry section is complimented by a large selection of breads, scones, tarts, crumbles and home baking for take home. This restaurant is located on what was once the Broderick bakery site and it is carrying on a very successful bakery operation to include the production of a large selection of special occasion and wedding cakes. 

 

Our team has provided a professional outside catering service since its inception in 1994.  It continues to provide this service for any special occasion or event and  a full selection of menus are available.
